Aims

Moorside Primary Academy is at the heart of the community in which we are set and the start of your child’s learning journey. Our school is a vibrant, welcoming and safe place to learn driven by high expectations in line with our motto of ‘Aiming High’. We believe education is the key to a successful life and aim to provide children with a lifelong long love of learning through rich experiences both in and outside of school. As a team we aim to inspire confidence, develop resilience, promote democracy and give children a voice to be heard, recognising only the best is good enough.

We challenge children to believe in and reach beyond themselves, so they leave proud of their achievements and are ready to make their next steps as confident and responsible citizens in an ever-changing society. No child should ever hit a ceiling on their learning, regardless of their starting point.

Ethos

At Moorside Primary Academy we believe in the concept of lifelong learning and the idea that both adults and children learn new things every day. We maintain that learning should be a rewarding and enjoyable experience for everyone; it should be fun. Through our teaching we equip children with the skills, knowledge and understanding necessary to be able to make informed choices about the important things in their lives. We believe that appropriate teaching and learning experiences help children to lead happy and rewarding lives encouraging them to become lifelong learners and successful citizens in an ever changing and evolving society. ‘Giving children a voice to be heard’.
